Articulate the shape of a face

This example shows how to create a more articulated shape on the bottom face of a cosmetic bottle. A cage face is subdivided and then translated in the NX Realize Shape task environment.

  1. Choose Home tab→Modify group→Subdivide Face .

  2. Select the face you want to subdivide.

  3. Drag the Scale handle to create the offset, or enter a value in the dialog box.

  4. Choose Home tab→Modify group→Transform Cage .

  5. In the Transform Cage dialog box, select the Transform tab.

  6. With Select Object active, select the face to move.

  7. Drag the Z-Translate handle downward to create a depression in the bottom of the bottle.

  8. Middle-click to complete the transformation.
