Create a subdivision body around a convergent body
This example shows how to create a subdivision body near reference geometry by defining cage vertices on it. After you create a rough subdivision body around the convergent body, you can modify and refine the surface using other NX Realize Shape commands.
Choose Home tab→Create group→Draw Cage .
Do the following:
In the Face Shape group, click Quad.
In the Vertices group, select Specify Point.
Using the Point on Face Snap Point option, select these four points in the order shown.
Select these points in the order shown.
Select these points in the order shown.
In the Vertices group, click Reset Start Point .
Select these points in the order shown.
Notice we needed to specify a new start point (1) in this row to create the cage face shown.
Continue selecting points and specifying new start points, as needed, until the upper cage is complete.
Hide the original body.
Rotate the part and specify a row of points to the ends and bottom of the part.
Use the Set Continuity command to set the following face edges to Sharp.
You can modify and refine the surface using other NX Realize Shape commands.
