Adding paths and ports to a backshell

You can add built-in paths and ports to a backshell using the Qualify Part command.

A backshell needs the following ports:

• A fitting port that connects it to a connector. Use the fitting port to place the backshell on a connector. Use the Rotation Vector option to qualify the fitting port — you can use this vector to orient the backshell. After it is placed, the rotation vector of the backshell is constrained to the rotation vector of the connector's port. When you rotate the connector, the backshell rotates along with it.
• A fixture port that connects it to the wires. Use the fixture port to place the backshell on a path or to connect a path to the backshell.

Note: If a component has more than one fixture port and you want to connect the wiring path to all the fixture ports, you must model the path inside the component using built-in paths.
