PLMXML Viewer

The PLMXML Viewer is a standalone Windows application (PLMXML Viewer.exe) found in the utils directory under the UGROUTE_ELEC kit. The viewer allows you to open PLMXML files generated by exporting electrical data from the NX Routing Electrical application, Teamcenter Integration for NX, or an Electrical Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) system. Refer to "Connection List: Export All" for more information on exporting data from NX. The Viewer will only display PLMXML files that adhere to the Mechatronics format.

You must have the nxbin directory included in the PATH variable for the Viewer to launch without errors.

The Viewer has three panes:

  • Connection List
  • Component List
  • Topology List

The Connection List and Component List panes look like the Connection List Navigator and Component List Navigator in Routing Electrical.

PLMXML Viewer Configuration

The PLMXML Viewer uses the configuration saved in the registry. When you open the PLMXML Viewer, it displays based on what is saved in the registry.

To open the PLMXML Viewer with a different configuration, create a new configuration file, and then use the Display Formats command in the View menu to save the new configuration file in the registry.
