Make edges smooth or sharp

This example shows how to set the continuity of edges in a vacuum cleaner shape in the NX Realize Shape task environment.

The area of the wheel well needs to have sharp edges. The top center surface faces of the canister need to be smooth.

1. Select the edges on the wheel well.

Right-click and choose Set Continuity .

2. Select Sharp.

3. Middle-click to apply.

You need to apply your changes, because you are going to use smooth continuity on the next set of edges.

Set Continuity is still active.

4. Select the center faces whose edges you want to make smooth.

5. Select Smooth.

The edges around the wheel well now have sharp edges. The top center surface faces of the canister are smooth.
