Create pipe welding joints automatically
Note: A user callback (AddPipeJointSetType) must be defined in order for the Pipe Welding Joint function to determine the type of pipe joint to create when ports are selected as inputs. The DLL for this callback needs to be added to the ugweld kit startup directory.
From the NX Open C++ reference guide:
typedef NXOpen::Callback1<void, NXOpen::Weld::JointItemBuilder *> NXOpen::Weld::CustomManager::PipeJointSetType
User-defined method that is called whenever a welding joint is created. License requirements: None.
Procedure
- Choose Home tab → Pipe Welding group → Pipe Welding Joint.
- In the Create group, from the Joint Type list, select Inferred.
- Select the ports.
- Tip: To display connected ports in the graphics window, choose File tab → Preferences group → Routing, and in the Routing Preferences, on the Display tab, make sure the Display Ports and Display Connected Ports check boxes are selected.
- Click Finish to automatically create the pipe welding joints.
