Pass
Pass allows automated passing of nominal sizes from an initial component or stock to adjacent elements, and so on, when certain conditions are met.
Nominal size detection
Whenever a component is placed, its nominal size(s) are detected according to the following scheme (<c> and <ns> correspond to the contact/nominal-size prefixes you assign as user preferences — e.g. C1→DN1, C2→DN2):
- A port named
<c>i(i = 1, 2, 3, ...) has its nominal size in an attribute named<ns>i. - If a port named
<c>i(i = 2, 3, ...) does not have an attribute named<ns>i, it uses the attribute named<ns>1. - If the port has no attribute named
<ns>1at all, it has no nominal size.
Whenever a stock is assigned, its nominal size (and that of its two ports) is always detected from the stock attribute <ns>1.
At each port of the placed component or assigned stock, a connecting port from another component or stock is searched for and its nominal size is detected as described above.
Inconsistencies
An error message is displayed for any inconsistencies at a connecting port, and passing through ends at that point. An inconsistency occurs when:
- The connecting port has a different nominal size than the one to pass through.
- The connecting port belongs to a universal component and is a non-stop port, and the nominal size to pass through differs from the nominal size of at least one other non-stop port of the universal component.
Assignment rules
The connecting port is assigned the nominal size to pass through if:
- It does not have any inconsistencies and it belongs to a universal component.
- It is a non-stop part — in this case, the nominal size to pass through is also assigned to all other non-stop ports of the universal component.
Stop conditions
Passing through of the nominal size stops at a connecting port if:
- The stock that owns the connecting port is a stop stock.
- The component that owns the connecting port is a stop component.
- The component that owns the connecting port is a universal component and:
- The connecting port is a stop port, or
- It owns stop ports only, or
- All its ports have nominal size inconsistencies.
- The component or stock that owns the connecting port has a different
RUN_IDthan the one by which it was reached.
Routing Logical allows you to start passing nominal sizes from an existing component or stock. Once a component or stock is selected, its nominal sizes are displayed; before starting the actual passing, you can change any of the nominal sizes and the new value(s) will be used.
