NX Realize Shape > Modifying subdivision geometry > Transform Cage

Transform Cage

Use the Transform Cage command to move, rotate, or scale control cage faces, edges, vertices, or the entire cage.

There are two Transform Cage methods: Transform and Drag.

  • Using the Transform method, you can translate, rotate, or scale the selected objects. The direction and amount of transformation, as well as the transformation itself, is controlled by the transform tool.

There are two transform tool displays: one denoting that you are transforming cage geometry, and one that denotes that you are only moving the transformer tool.

  • Using the Drag method, you can move selected objects by specifying a direction and dragging them or snapping them to other non subdivision geometry in the graphics window. Drag uses a vector-plane tool similar to the OrientXpress tool.
