Revolve a polyline converted from a spline

This example shows you how to extract a polyline from a spline and then revolve it about an axis to create a subdivision body.

  1. Choose Home tab→Polyline group→Extract Cage Polyline .

  2. In the Extract Cage Polyline dialog box, in the Settings group, set Input Curves to Hide.

  3. Select the spline.

  4. Choose Home tab→Create group→Revolve Cage .

  5. With Select Face Edge or Polyline active, select the polyline.

  6. Middle-click to advance.

  7. With Specify Vector active, select the line.

  8. With Select Point active, select the end point of the line.

  9. Enter the following start and end angles:

  • Start Angle=180

  • End Angle=360

Note: If the arrow is pointing in the wrong direction, click Reverse Direction .

  1. Middle-click to apply or select another NX Realize Shape command.
