Create a handle using a polyline

This example shows you how to create a cage polyline in the XC-YC plane, and then create a cup handle using the cage polyline as a centerline for a cage tube

  1. Choose Home tab→Polyline group→Cage Polyline .

  2. In the Cage Polyline dialog box, set the following:

  • In the Drawing Plane group, choose XC-YC .

  • In the Movement group, choose View.

  1. Select points as shown.

Move points as needed so that the top segment and the bottom segments point to the approximate center of the subdivided surfaces.

  1. Choose Home tab→Create group→Tube Cage .

  2. In the Tube Cage dialog box, in the Cross Section group, set the following:

  • Size = 20

  • Number of Segments = 4

  1. Select the polyline, and then middle-click to create the tube.

Subsequent operations can be used to complete the handle-to-cup transition.
