NX Realize Shape > Modifying subdivision geometry > Merge Face
Merge Face
Use the Merge Face command to combine selected cage faces, or cage faces adjacent to selected edges, into a single cage face.
The following example shows four cage faces selected, and then merged to improve the topology. Notice the undulations in the left graphic.
You can:
Remove or modify the topology of the subdivision body.
Simplify the subdivision body and its control cage structure.
Create fewer but more complex cage faces.
Considerations when merging subdivision body faces
You can select more than two cage faces to merge, but the cage faces must be connected.
The cage faces you select must be able to build a rectangular, planar matrix of control cage elements.
You can select one or more cage edges to merge the faces adjacent to them.
