Showing and hiding runs

In the Run Navigator, each row has a check box that indicates the visibility of the item in that row.

• If the check box is empty, the corresponding object is hidden.
• If the check box contains a check mark, the object shows.
• A gray check mark indicates that a subordinate entry is hidden but not the entire object. For example, if one item of a run is hidden but the rest are not, the check box for the Run is gray.

Hiding a routing causes all the items of all the runs belonging to that routing to be hidden, including the From Items and To Items.

Hiding a run causes all Member items (both referenced and non-referenced) of the run to be hidden, but not the From items and To items. Hiding From items, To items, or Member items causes only that single item to be hidden.

If a Member item to be hidden is a stock, any segment to which that stock is assigned is hidden as well, provided there are no other shown stocks assigned to the segment. Any RCP associated with hidden segments is hidden as well, provided no other shown segments are associated with the RCP.

Run connectivity symbols

A symbol may appear between the check box and the run name:

• A well defined run.
• A broken run — meaning the run does not have connectivity (missing component or segment would cause this condition).
• An incomplete run — usually caused by stock not being assigned.

Columns

System defined

The system-defined columns are Item, Part Name, Component Name, Compare Status, and Run Type.

• The Item column provides the hierarchical listing of Routings, Runs, and Referenced Member Items. The name of a Referenced Member Item is the value of that item's REFERENCE_ID characteristic.
• The Compare Status column shows the results of a Compare operation.
• The Run Type column has a value in the box for run entries only. This is a special column because run type is not a regular characteristic.

Default configuration

The default configuration of the Run Navigator includes the following columns:

• Item — Routing ID, Run ID, or Reference ID display (depending on entry type)
• Part Name — the file name of a Member item (blank for routing and run entries)
• Component Name — Assembly Component name of Items entries
• Compare Status — text describing the status of an item resulting from a Compare operation (Extra, Missing, or Discrepancy)
• Run Type — populated for Run entries only

User defined columns

You have the option of adding columns to the Run Navigator. You can configure a column to show any characteristic value of each entry. You can access this option through a right-click menu option named Columns.

Sorting

You can sort the entries by any column by clicking in the header section of the column. Sorting does not disturb the basic hierarchy of the list. Runs are always grouped into routings (if more than one routing is defined) and Items are always grouped according to the runs to which they belong. The items of runs are further grouped according to type, either From items, To items, or Member items. The resulting structure is not affected by column sorting.

If the list is sorted by the Items column, then routings are listed alphabetically, the runs within a routing are listed alphabetically, and the lists for From items, To items, and Member items within a run are sorted alphabetically.
