Create Fabrication

Use the Create Fabrication command to create a subassembly from standard parts, path segments, stock, and other routing objects within the routing assembly. You can use this command to define a certain set of routing components as a separate assembly. The Routing Bill of Materials (BOM) interface offers special methods of reporting fabrications.

The selected routing assembly is defined as an NX component. NX removes the original objects and components from the current work part and adds the new component into the work part to replace the removed objects.

You can save attributes with the fabrication.

Note: NX does not save the component part file until you save the opened parts.
