Selection in NX Realize Shape
You can select control cage geometry in ways similar to standard NX, such as individually or with Rectangle or Lasso selection.

Selection intent
When selecting cage geometry, you can apply a NX Realize Shape type filter to narrow the selection of cage objects.

Selection rules work in conjunction with the specified type filter to refine your object selection.

- Single Object
Only directly selected objects are selected. This is the default condition.
- Loop
Use this option to select connected cage edges or cage faces. Where you select the cage face or edge determines the direction of the loop.
**
Cage face selected - all faces in loop are selected**
- Matrix
Use this rule to select two objects of the same type. The vertices of the area between them must form a rectangular grid.
The resulting selection forms a rectangular grid of the same type as the selected objects.
**
Two faces selected – all faces in matrix are selected**
Selecting a matrix of cage vertices or cage edges operates in a similar fashion.
- Region
Use this option to select all the objects of the same type by selecting one object (cage vertex, cage edge, cage face) within that region.
**
Cage face selected – all faces in that region are selected**
Selecting a region of cage vertices or cage edges operates in a similar fashion.
- Sharp Edges
Use this option to select all edges with sharp continuity by selecting a sharp edge.
- Weighted Edges
Use this option to select all edges that have weight applied, based on an initial selection of a weighted edge.
Automatic deselection
The Exclusive Selection option appears on the Top Border bar whenever you are prompted to select cage objects.
It is inactive by default, which means normal NX selection behavior, where selection of objects is compounded.
When Exclusive Selection is active, any new selection of cage objects discards prior selections. The selection of objects is individual.
Exclusive Selection is persistent. It remains active until you explicitly turn it off.
