Place Splice
Use the Place Splice command to place a graphical representation of a splice on a path in a harness assembly.
The splice appears as a logical node in the Electrical Component Navigator, under the node of the harness assembly in which you place it.
A splice behaves like an inline object whose position is dependent on the shape of the path on which it is placed. It neither subdivides the path nor drives the shape of the path. A splice adjusts its size according to the bundle diameter on the path so that it always remains visible in the harness.
Sharing splice data between Routing Electrical and Capital data
Splices are included in the electrical connectivity data you export from Routing Electrical. Capital products can interpret this information when defining splice locations in 2D logical and 3D harness diagrams.
Exporting splice data from Routing
When you export electrical connection data that contains splices (generally in PLMXML format), NX also exports the splice location so that when the data is read back in via Capital HarnessXC to NX, the splice is physically placed in the 3D harness assembly and automatically assigned in the component navigator. The splice's wiring connections also appear in the Electrical Connection Navigator.
