Using Routing applications > Routing Mechanical > Piping and Tubing > Place End Form
Place, edit, and remove a tubing end form
This example shows how to:
- Add an end form to tubing stock.
- Display the attributes of the end form.
- Change the end form type from a flange to a conical flare.
- Remove the end form from the path.
Procedure
- Open a part that contains a linear path that has piping or tubing stock assigned to it. Make sure:
- You are in the Routing Mechanical application, and that the Routing Piping and Tubing specialty application is turned on.
- The stock is displayed as a Detailed Solid.
- The Discipline is set to Piping or Tubing.
- Choose Home tab → Stock group → Place End Form.
- Click Specify End Form.
- In the Reuse Library group, under Folder View, in the Name column, select the Routing Part Library → EndForms node.
- Under Member View, select an end form type, such as
Flanged_Tubing, and click OK. - In the graphics window, select the path end segment you want to add the end form to and click OK. Routing adds the flange to the end of the path.
- Right-click the end form and choose Properties. A set of Routing Library Defined attributes for the flange is displayed on the Attributes tab. Click OK.
- In the graphics window, right-click the linear segment that has the end form on it and choose Edit End Form.
- Click Specify End Form. In the Name column, select the Routing Part Library → EndForms node.
- Under Member View, select a different end form type, such as
Conical_Flare, and click OK twice. NX changes the end form to a conical flare. - In the graphics window, right-click the linear segment that has the end form and choose Remove End Form.
- In the Remove End Form dialog box, click OK. NX removes the flare from the linear segment.
