Stock Offset Expression

When you use the Stock Offset Points or Stock Offset Surface method while creating a spline, you can set a Stock Offset Expression to calculate the distance by which a path passing through a stock offset point, or on a stock offset surface, moves in the offset vector direction when you add stock or space reservation to the path.

Example

Assume a spline path is created using the Stock Offset Points method, and the following is set:

  • Offset vector direction = ZC-axis
  • Stock Offset Expression = (MAX_PATH_STOCK_DIA/2.0)
  • Stock diameter = 15

The path will move 7.5 units in the +ZC direction when stock or space reservation is applied to the path.

Stock Offset Expression preference

For more information on the Stock Offset Expression Routing preference, see Routing Preferences — Paths tab.

Note: You can also set the Stock Offset Expression customer default.
