Design rule violations and overrides

You can override a design rule violation by entering a reason for the violation. The override attaches to the violation along with the name of the user who created the override and the date and time it was created. Overridden violations are not reported on subsequent design rule checks.

Detected violations are highlighted in the graphics window. The Violation Objects Color customer default sets the color of objects that violate design rules. In the case of a spline bend radius design rule violation, the default color is applied to the temporary spline segments that show the violation of the bend radius, and not to the entire spline. In other cases, the color is applied to all the displayable objects that violate the design rule (e.g. an incompatible NPS violation).

Tip: To find a customer default, choose File tab → Utilities → Customer Defaults, and click Find Default.
