Unify Path

Use the Unify Path command to replace stock and fittings with those that match the Routing Library Defined characteristics of a referenced Routing object. Unify Path affects both legacy as well as component stock.

You can:

• Create a part specification using the values defined for the selected unifying characteristics and the existing values for other characteristics on each object.
• Find an object of the same class defined by the new part specification in the part library.
• Replace the selected objects with new ones.
• If corresponding objects are not found, the stock or fitting can be replaced by a dummy symbol. You can replace the symbols with parts and stocks that have matching characteristics after you update the library.
• Assign a new set of characteristics to the replaced objects.

Routing objects can also inherit characteristics from other routing objects. You can also use this command to unify the members of a run based on their specifications. Use this command from the Define Run dialog box to find replacement parts for member items of the run from the run specification.

Note: NX does not replace a part that has the specification attribute Overridden. To replace such a part, use Replace Part.

• Prerequisite: You must load the routing components with a reference set that includes their ports.
