NX Realize Shape > Creating subdivision models > Draw Cage
Draw Cage
Use the Draw Cage command to create a subdivision body near reference geometry by selecting cage vertices on the reference geometry.
You can use this command to quickly create a rough subdivision body around a convergent body, and then modify and refine the surface using other NX Realize Shape commands.
You can:
Select points to draw the cage face, usually points on reference geoemtry.
Drag a point to reshape the cage while it's being created.
Create four-sided quad cage faces and n-sided polygon cage faces.
**Example:
Original body
Specify points on the body as vertices for the quad cage faces
Finished cage
A cage face is created by specifying the points of the vertices.
