Stock commands

The main function of this dialog box is selection of individual or multiple stocks that will then have operations applied to them, and the creation of new stock.

The dialog box includes a listing window at the top and a set of action buttons below. Each action button works on the set of stocks selected on the list. Standard list selection techniques are available.

You can access all stock operations through the tool buttons in the lower part of this dialog box. Each tool button is sensitive only if all the stocks selected in the list are valid candidates for that operation. Some operations are valid only if you select a single stock.

The row indicators show the stock type: Stock, Flagged Overstock, Wrapped Overstock, or Fixed/Sleeved Overstock.

Behavior

• State: You have entered the dialog box.
• Cue: Select stocks or segments.
• Defaults: Stock associated with segments and stock components selected using global selection, prior to choosing the Stock button, is automatically added to the list when the dialog box starts.

The highlighted stocks in the graphics display correspond to the selected rows in the list. You can select stocks to add to the list, or select segments — selecting a segment adds all stocks assigned to it to the list.

The check mark in each row controls whether the stock component is hidden or shown (checked = displays, unchecked = hidden). The button in each row indicates the type of stock or overstock. The Routing Level column shows the routing level for each stock component.

The right-click menu has an option for each action button, with matching sensitivities. Additional right-click-only items: Select All, Hide Selected, Show Selected, Remove From List, and Apply Filter to List.

The Routing Level Selection Filter initially shows all levels. The filter allows only stocks on the specified routing level to appear in the list. Enter a level name or choose one from the menu (includes all levels currently used in the work part, plus a * wildcard option). The value persists between dialog box invocations.

Navigation buttons: OK, Back, and Cancel exit the dialog box.

Sensitivity:

• Assign Stock and Select Path are always sensitive.
• Edit Overstock is sensitive when a single row of overstock is selected. (May not be available in earlier NX releases.)
• Delete, Edit Characteristics, Routing Levels, Rename Stock, Replace Stock, and Enable Features are sensitive when one or more rows are selected.
• Orient is sensitive when only one row is selected.
• Select All (right-click) is sensitive only when at least one row is not selected.
• Stock Style is sensitive when one or more rows are selected and the work part is a legacy stock part (not available in Stock As Components mode).
• Rename Stock and Replace Stock are sensitive when one or more rows are selected and the work part is a Stock As Components part (not available in Legacy Stock mode).

Right-click menu commands

• Hide Selected — sensitive only when at least one selected row has a check mark.
• Show Selected — sensitive only when at least one selected row does not have a check mark.
• Remove From List — sensitive only when at least one row is selected.

Selection

Enables selection of segments and stock components. Selecting an object in the display adds its stock(s) to the Stock list (one row per stock); each selected row highlights the corresponding stock component. Any stock not on a routing level matching the Routing Level Selection Filter is not added to the list. The filter accepts the wildcard *, matching all routing levels.

Actions

Action	Description
Assign Stock	Launches the Assign Stock dialog box.
Edit	Launches the Edit Stock dialog box.
Delete	Removes the stock associated with the selected rows.
Edit Characteristics	Launches the Edit Characteristics dialog box.
Routing Level	Launches the Routing Level dialog box. The Routing Level for a piece of stock displays in the second column and can be edited directly by slow double-clicking that column's text.
Select Path	Lets you select segments to create stock.
Rename Stock	Executes the Rename Stock functionality.
Replace Stock	Executes the Replace Stock functionality.
Enable Features	Makes the selected stocks featureable.
Stock Style	Launches the Stock Style dialog box.

Checking or unchecking a row's box shows or hides the selected piece of stock.

Right-click menu commands

Command	Description
Select All	Highlights all rows in the dialog box.
Hide Selected	Unchecks the boxes of all highlighted rows.
Show Selected	Checks the boxes of all highlighted rows.
Remove From List	Removes all highlighted rows from the list.
Apply Filter to List	Removes all rows whose routing level does not match the Routing Level Selection Filter.
