Searching the Routing Part Library with direct Teamcenter Classification integration

You can also utilize a direct Teamcenter Classification search when using the Routing Part Library with direct Teamcenter Classification integration. This lets you search your Teamcenter Classification hierarchy via the Routing Reuse Search dialog box for matching items without needing to load all the items in the database.

This functionality is only available if the following conditions are met:

• You have configured the Routing Part Library to use Teamcenter Classification.
• You have set the Provide Search of Teamcenter Classification Directly customer default.
• You have reached the threshold number specified by the Threshold Value to Search Teamcenter Classification Directly customer default. The threshold specified by this customer default is the number of classified items that must exist under a given node in the Routing Part Library hierarchy before this functionality becomes available.

If these three conditions are met, a Search button is then added to the Routing Reuse Search dialog box.

You are then able to fill out the search criteria, but the search is not initiated automatically. To initiate the search, you must click Search. When you click Search, a search of the Teamcenter Classification is initiated, and the results are returned like a traditional search.

After you perform the initial search, you can then filter through the existing results by selecting values from the pull-down lists. After the initial search, the pull-down lists are populated with all the possible values from the matching items. There is no need to click Search again.

Other considerations

• If you are working in an active Specification, you can populate the pull-down lists in the Routing Reuse Search dialog box with values that fall outside of the active Specification. After you perform the initial search, the Specification is then applied to the found items, and only those items which fall within the parameters of the active Specification are listed.
• Your search can return zero items if you specify a combination of attribute values that do not exist for any of the items under the node being searched.
