Display Formats

Display Formats control how the Electrical Connection Navigator and Electrical Component Navigator appear in the Navigation display and how they will write out to the Information window. Without a Display Format, the list displays only the system-defined fields (smart fields).

Display Formats reside in the NX part file and are defined in three ways:

• They may be defined in the wiring configuration file, in which case they are automatically created in the work part when Routing Electrical is started.
• They can be defined in a format file (.fmt suffix), in which case you can explicitly import them into the work part during an NX session.
• You can create a display format interactively while in Routing Electrical.

Display Formats are different from File Formats (and easily confused). A File Format determines how a file is read or written, and cannot be created interactively. A Display Format determines how a list displays once it has been read, and can be defined interactively.
