Label

Label creates formatted labels associated with components and/or stocks. This association is two-fold:

  • The label moves when the stock or component moves.
  • The representation of attributes in the label changes as the value of the attributes changes. The user-defined format of the label can refer to one or more attributes of the component or stock.

An attribute reference in the label format is the name of a component, stock, or part attribute. The reference also contains information about where to search for the attribute:

  • At the component or stock only.
  • At the part only.
  • First at the component or stock, and second at the part.

Whenever a component is placed or a run is created, the system tries to find the attribute which denotes the name of a label. If such an attribute is found, it constructs the label text from the corresponding format, creates the labels, and the User Defined Objects (UDO) linking a point of the component or a segment of the stock with the label.

Where do I find it?

  • Application: Routing Logical
