Routing Electrical workflow

The steps outlined here assume the general flow of the routing process. Routing does not enforce this process, and your actual process may vary to meet your needs. Routing Electrical has a more specific process flow.

1. Select standard devices and place them into the assembly, using either Assemblies→Add Component or Routing→Place Part.
2. Create the paths required to connect the devices.
3. Select all of the paths or specific sections and Assign Stock. It is also possible to assign stock as paths are created in Step 2.
4. Add additional fittings and fixtures into the routing as needed using Place Part (using Assemblies→Add Component will not update existing routing paths to accommodate new components).
5. Edit the paths to permit proper placement of standard parts. Edit the selection and placement of standard parts to permit the proper fit and function of the routing assembly. Also, edit the routing assembly to resolve any design rule violations.
6. Perform interference and clearance checks as needed.
