Create Path — Shape tab
Use the Shape tab to edit the shape or length of path segments. There are four primary functions on the Shape tab that are initially insensitive; activate a segment by selecting it in the graphics display to enable the buttons.
The system adopts the selected segment when selected — it redefines the segment to have a follow curve that is a Fixable Length Spline, even if the segment was previously a line or an arc. If the segment was a line or an arc, it still appears to be so, but you can now shape it as a spline and may lock its length. (You cannot lock the length of line and arc segments.) Shape requires the segment to be a spline segment, so applications that do not allow spline curves cannot use this tool.
Note: Segments that are part of a bend corner — the arc segment itself or the linear side segments — are not selectable.
Caution: Do not expect adopted arc segments to behave as a normal arc segment any longer. Functions such as Bend Table Report will no longer recognize the segment as an arc segment.
