Detail the shape of a seat cushion by setting edge weights
This example shows how shapes of the outside edges of a car seat are refined by setting weighting factors on control cage edges in the NX Realize Shape environment.
This seat was created using Symmetric Modeling without x-ray cage display.
Choose Home tab→Modify group→Set Weight .
On the Top Border bar, from the Selection Rule list, choose Loop.
Select the back and side loops of edges.
Drag the Percentage slider to 50.
Middle-click to apply the weighting factor.
Select the front loop of edges.
Drag the Percentage slider to 75.
This makes a sharper transition for the front edge of the seat.
- Middle-click to continue setting edge weights or select another NX Realize Shape command.
