Edit Slope Constraints

The Edit Slope Constraints functionality was removed in NX 5. For manual constraint creation, see Assemblies → Components → Assembly Constraints.

When a pre-NX 5 part with a slope constraint is opened in NX 5 or a later version, it is converted to two constraints — Align Constraints and Parallel Constraints — which display in the Assembly Navigator after using Convert Mating Conditions. Use Assemblies → Components → Convert Mating Conditions to automatically convert existing mating conditions to Assembly Constraints.

Note: Conversion from mating conditions to assembly constraints is irreversible after the part is saved.

Note: You can also use the following Routing functions for automatic constraint creation:

• Create / Edit Spline Path
• Quick Path
• Edit Line Segments
• Heal Path

To use any of these functions, you must set Interaction to Positioning Constraints, from Preferences → Assemblies.
