Primitive Shape dialog box
Type
Specifies the shape to use.
The orientation of a primitive shape and the direction of the size specifications use the Work Coordinate System, which can be moved during primitive creation using the Transform tool.
Sphere, Cylinder, Block, and Torus initially create a B-surface sheet body.
If the cage remains closed when you finish NX Realize Shape, it will be a B-surface solid body.
- Rectangle and Circle create a B-surface sheet body.
Sphere
Creates a cage for a sphere.
Size handle available.
Cylinder
Creates a cage for a cylinder.
Size and Height handles available.
Block
Creates a cage for a block.
Length, Width, and Height handles available.
Circle
Creates a cage for a circle.
Size handle available.
Rectangle
Creates a cage for a rectangle.
Length, and Width handles available.
Torus
Creates a cage for a torus
Inner and Outer diameter handles available.
Center
Available for Circle, Sphere, Cylinder, and Torus primitive types.
Specify Point
Lets you specify the origin by selecting any location on the XY plane of the Work Coordinate System, or you can drag the origin handle anywhere on the work plane.
The Point Dialog is available for specifying the origin.
Origin
Available for Rectangle and Block primitive types.

The Sphere primitive is a special case that uses subdivision levels instead of segmentation.
Subdivision levels are progressively determined by dividing each cage face of a subdivision level in half in both directions.
