Connect a subdivision shape to existing geometry
This example shows how to connect the subdivision model of an iron to the outside edge of a button plate.
In the Part Navigator, double-click the subdivision body feature of the iron to edit it in the NX Realize Shape task environment.
Choose Home tab→Modify group→Connect Cage .
Select the open edges to be connected.
In this example, the symmetric edges on one side of the iron opening are selected.
Middle-click to make the next selection.
Select the external curves the open edges connect to.
In this example, the outter edge of the button mask is selected.
- In the Continuity group, set the continuity option.
In this example, Continuity is set to Sharp.
- Click OK.
The edges on the iron opening are connected to the outer edge of the button plate.
