Stock

Stock is the solid material that connects inline parts and devices along a path in the routing assembly. Stock is modeled by sweeping a set of 2D profile curves on one or more path segments. If there are bend segments along the path, the stock will conform to them. The path in turn drives the length and shape of the stock on which it is applied. Standard stock inherits its characteristics from the APV files and can be displayed with varying levels of detail.

The active Routing application and selected discipline determine the type of stock displayed in the Routing Part Library. For example, with mechanical applications, the Piping discipline filters the Routing Part Library for piping stock; the Tubing discipline filters the library for tubing stock, and so on. For electrical applications, Wiring is a specialized discipline in which the stock represents bundles of wires or cables. If you set the discipline to None, no library filtering occurs, and all stock types in the library become available for selection.

  • Command: Stock
  • Graphics window: Right-click a segment with no stock assigned to it → New Stock
