Move Part

Use the Move Part command to reposition a Routing part.

While this command works similar to the Move Component command in NX Assemblies, it is best to use the Move Part command for Routing parts, as NX ignores Routing ports when you use the Move Component command.

When you use the Move Part command you can select parts from within the work part and its components. The part that you can move depends on whether you select the part first and then choose the Move Part command, or whether you choose the command first and then select your part.

• To move any part or component within a subassembly, make your selection either in the Assembly Navigator or in the graphics window, and then choose the Move Part command. In this case, NX changes the work part to the immediate parent of your preselected part, or to the topmost parent in the same part tree which has a position override.
• To move only those components whose position is controlled by the current work part, choose the Move Part command first and then select your components. You can select from components that are either the immediate children of your current work part, or a component of a lower subassembly if it has position overrides in the current work part.

Note: If the customer default for the selection Scope of the Move Component command is set to Anywhere in Assembly, then you cannot move a routing component using the Move Part command.

To find a customer default, choose File tab → Utilities → Customer Defaults, and click Find Default.

Placing and moving eccentric reducers

If the NPS and NPS_BRANCH attributes are not present on the ports of a reducer, you might not get the correct placement solution while placing the part. If you place such a part, you might not be able to move it as expected using the Move Part command.
