Journal

Journal allows automation of commonly used Routing functions. You can record journal files, which can be paused, replayed, stopped, edited, or inserted with User Comment, User Pause, or User Defined Code.

Use the Journal functionality to automate a series of steps that need to be repeated. The series of steps can be saved as a Journal file, which can then be replayed. Journal is better than a macro because macros are extremely sensitive, often difficult to replay because they rely on screen size and selections. Part of the journaling effort creates a text-like interface between the user interface and the low-level routines. Once the interface is in place, the journaled commands are the same ones used in the application.

Journal is a new API for all of NX. The intention is to replace User Function and GRIP. Existing user functions are maintained, but no new user functions or GRIP functions are to be written.
