Flexible assembly component

The Deformable Part functionality (available in Modeling) allows the creation of parts that can have different shapes for each placement in an assembly. Use this functionality to create Routing parts (such as flex hose and cable assemblies) that can be reused many times. See Assemblies Help; Deform Part for more information.

The best Routing application of Flexible Assembly is for the creation of standard off-the-shelf components such as cables, harnesses, and flexible hoses. Such parts can be initially created in Routing and then defined as deformable parts using the Define Flexible Assembly function in Modeling.

When maintaining flexible components in an assembly, be aware that the flexible feature exists in (that is, it is copied into) the part in which the flexible part is placed. Access to this feature is available to anyone capable of modifying the assembly part, even if they have no write access to the subcomponent itself.
