Edit Points

Option Description
Move Points Lets you pick a through point and drag to reposition on screen. If you lock the segment length, the picked point will not move beyond what the length constraints allow (you may need to unlock the length). You can drag components that impose port constraints to reposition the ends of the segments. If a point is associative to a point definition/constraint that needs to snap to a smart point or a port, you must select the object to snap to next. If you cannot reposition a through point to the desired location, unlock the spline length. Adding a fixture port as a constraint causes the first screen pick to add a through point on the spline closest to the pick; selecting the fixture port next defines the added constraint by the port — this subdivides the old segment at the port location and creates two new segments in its place.
Add Points (Adds through points to the segment.)
Remove Points You can delete existing through points by selecting them in this mode and choosing OK or Apply.
Lock Length Entering a length value and choosing Apply lengthens or shortens the segment by adding or removing uniformly distributed slack. You cannot set the length to less than the summation of minimum distances between each pair of constraint points. Checking the Lock Length check box locks the length of the spline on Apply. Note: locking the length of a segment forces the underlying spline to remain the same length, which may affect adjoining segments if they follow the same underlying spline (from subdividing a spline segment).
Assign Slack Slack can be assigned to a segment provided its length is not locked (slack options are grayed out if locked). The length of a segment with slack is based on the slackless length — the calculated length of the segment if it were to fulfill its constraints, using a degree of 3 at most. Two methods to specify slack amount: % Length (percentage of the slackless segment length) or Distance (a specific length value beyond the slackless length). You can specify slack direction via the Vector Constructor dialog box (Specify Slack Direction Vector button). Reset Slack Direction restores the slack direction of the FLS to that specified in Preferences.
