Define a run

This example shows how to create a run using a routing object or stock as the From item and a run identifier as the To item. You can edit the run to add To items and Member items.

Procedure

  1. Choose Menu → Tools → Run Navigator → Create Run.
  2. In the Define Run dialog box, in the From Items group, Select Object is highlighted.
  3. Select the routing object or stock that you want to use as the starting point of the run.
    • The selected object appears in the List box along with all the used ports on the object.
  4. In the List box, select the routing object or stock that you want to use.
    • All the used ports on the selected object appear in the Used Ports list.
  5. In the Used Ports list, select the port from which you want to start the run.
  6. In the To Items group, in the Virtual Reference Identifier box, enter an alphanumeric value.
    • This example uses the value EndPoint.
    • This value creates a placeholder for the To Items in the Run Navigator and adds EndPoint to the List box in the To Items group.
  7. In the Properties group, in the Run Identifier box, specify an alphanumeric value and press Enter.
    • This example uses the value NewRun.
  8. Click OK.

A run called NewRun is created in the Run Navigator.
