Create a platform

This example shows how to create a platform using separate anchors for external and internal frames.

Before you begin

  • Select the Routing Mechanical and Platform applications.
  • In the Routing Preferences dialog box, set the discipline to Steelwork.

Procedure

  1. Choose Menu → Tools → Platform.
  2. Select a set of closed curves that represent the platform floor.
  3. In the Plates group, click Select Boundaries, and select the curves that define individual plate boundaries.
  4. Click Reverse Direction to create the platform and external frames in the desired direction.
  5. Click Specify Plate and in the Specify Item dialog box, select the platform plate stock from the Reuse Library (example: platform_plate_01_mm). Click OK to return to the Platform Creator dialog box.
  6. In the External Frame group, click Stock and select the external frame stock from the Reuse Library (example: L100_10_PLATFORM). Click OK.
  7. In the External Frame group, from the Anchor list, select the anchor point for the external frame (example: EXTERNAL_FRAME ANCHOR).
  8. In the Internal Frame group, specify the stock for the internal frame using one of:
    • To use the same stock as the external frame, select the Use same stock as external frame check box.
    • To use a different stock, click Stock and specify the new stock.
  9. In the Internal Frame group, from the Anchor list, select the anchor point for the internal frame (example: INTERNAL_FRAME ANCHOR).
  10. Click OK to create the platform.
