Heal Path

Use the Heal Path command to create a linear or spline path between two or more objects.

You can generate a heal path as:

• A single spline segment (provided the Application View allows splines).
• A set of connected linear segments.

You can assign a default bend radius at corner RCPs, as well as stock or space reservation to the path.

To heal a path, select two objects from the graphics window. Single Selection and Deselection is active. For segments, lines, open arcs, and splines, the end which will heal is that closest to the screen selection location. The ends selected may not share the same location on the screen. The possible selection objects are:

• Fitting, Fixture, or Multi ports (Stock ports are not selectable)
• Segments
• Lines, arcs, and splines
• Circular edges

Each of these object types provides a vector (position and direction) which Heal requires. The associated vector for ports is its alignment vector. The associated vector for segments, lines, splines and open-ended arcs is the tangent at the end points. The associated vector for closed arcs and circular edges is their Z-axis vector at the center.

Note: Segments that are part of a bend corner — either the arc segment itself or the linear segments on either side (called side segments) — are not selectable.

After you have selected both objects, a proposed (straight line) path displays temporarily in the graphics window without stock and corner detail. This proposed path depends on the chosen Method. An alternate solution appears if you select a different Method. If you change the start or end extension lengths or modify any dialog box value, the new proposed path re-displays. Should you modify the preview in a way that erases the temporary data, reentering any dialog box value will update the display.
